AABookstore Return & Refund Policy

Amsterdam Antiquarian Bookstore (AABookstore)

At AABookstore, we take pride in the careful selection, accurate description, and proper handling of all items offered for sale. As an antiquarian bookseller, we primarily deal in rare, out-of-print, and second-hand materials. Due to the unique and often irreplaceable nature of these items, we kindly request that all customers review the following return policy before making a purchase.

Eligibility for Returns

Returns will only be accepted under the following conditions:

  • The item received is materially different from its description (e.g., incorrect edition, misstated condition, or cataloguing error).

  • The item has sustained damage in transit, not attributable to mishandling by the recipient.

  • An incorrect item was shipped in error.

Please note: Items sold through clearance, marked as final sale, or purchased in person are not eligible for return unless explicitly agreed upon at the time of sale.

Procedure for Returns

  1. Notification Period:
    Customers must notify AAbookstore of any issues within five (5) calendar days of receipt.

  2. Request Format:
    All return requests must be submitted in writing to hello@aabookstore.com and must include:

    • Order reference number

    • Description of the issue

    • Supporting photographs of the item and, where applicable, the packaging

  3. Approval & Return Shipping:
    If the return request is approved, the customer will receive return instructions. The item must be shipped securely and received by AABookstore within seven (7) calendar days of return approval.

Condition of Returned Items

All returned items must be in the same condition as when sold. Items returned in altered, damaged, or incomplete condition may be subject to partial refund or denial of refund.

Refund Terms

  • Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment upon receipt and inspection of the returned item.

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable, except where the return is due to an error on our part.

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, unless otherwise agreed.

In-Store Purchases

All in-store purchases are considered final. Exceptions may be made at the sole discretion of management and must be arranged prior to or at the time of purchase.
